Just when you thought, all indoor malls would become dumpy and run down here comes The Oaks, a very nice mostly indoor, but also partially outdoor shopping mall. There's a pretty good selection of all the usual mall, stores, as well as some unique places and a few empty spots, which is still to be expected these days. Lots of places to sit when your companion is shopping in a store you're not interested in and lots of nice wide, walking aisles as well.

Massive shopping emporium of frills & fun... The Oaks is vast mostly open-air mall shopping center combo extravaganza. Home to AMC -Dine-In - Thousand Oaks 14 where I seen my fair share of flicks... enjoyed a meal at Lazy Dog (comfort food meets sport bar bliss), thought about waiting for a table at a quite busy Cheesecake Factory... but have yet to try T.O.'s take on it... and more stores of all kinds than you can image... Some you might miss on your first trip. It's large and lavish... Parking is more than abundant, but quite pedestrian savage... Like the walk paths are not convenient for your destinations... If I'm going to the movies... Or my new favorite more lavish Urban Plates location... the only paths to cross safely are in front of Lazy Dog or at the very end of the corner... BEHIND the location... Faulty design once you park to embark on your Oaks experience... But there not too much else you won't want to miss. They have the signatures like Starbucks, Sbarro, Chipotle, Mrs. Fields, Wetzel's Pretzels, See's Candies, Lolli & Pop... not to forget... Hot Dog On A Stick. Department stores to adore... such as Dick's, JCP, Macy's and Nordstroms Beauty & self-care must (we trust)... Sephora, Bath & Bodyworks and Lush to name a few. Shopper niche favs... Journeys, Hot Topic, Anthropologie, American Eagle, PacSun... Michael Kors + more FYE, the Apple store and so many tech + nerdy must to explore... HELLO Miniso, Mind Games (board games), and Tokyo Japanese Lifestyle!! The website and directories are extremely useful. You can find great deals, decor and delish on a dish eats if you wish... And wonderful service in almost every inch of this massive mall of more. A place I do implore you to endure.... Hark the Oaks evermore!

I also love shopping in person. I like to see and feel the quality of thing I purchase, especially the pricier buys. Unfortunately nowadays, people are mainly going online- making it hard for retailers to turn a profit and then close their in person stores. It is quite sad as it's a better experience to walk around, window shop and experience merchandise in person. I will buy online if it's something that is hard to find in person as online does have wider availability and versatility. I love this mall's children's play area, right by the food court and family restroom. It is spacious and the kids love it! We come just for this, eat and do some shopping. I liked the MYO pizza place they had. I hope one returns. They also offer free Zumba classes for the community.

Dare i say this may be the only safe place left to shop? Parking is really easy here , once i had to use the upper deck by nordstroms. The food court has all the brand names you'd expect Sbarri, HDOAS, Panda, Mongolian BBQ and a sushi spot although i'd think twice about food court sushi. just sayin. There are several empty door places . There are quite a few restaurants on the outside of the mall near the AMC. warning unless you love flea bites stay away from lucky dog. This mall has a JCP (didn't know they were still in business haven't seen a Penny's commercial for years ) Macys & Nordstrom anchor stores. My fav stores are Nordstroms Excellence i Cust Svc , Anthro, Jjill Great Cust Svc , Lucky Brand Good Cust Svc , WHBM Sock store -great place if you need a few laughs kinda pricey around $10+ per pair. Victoria Secret although the new remodel has 1/3 the merchandise and 3x the store display kinda scratching my head why they made the store all fixtures low merchandise? Didn't have anyone approach me last time I was in. Didn't see any sales people on the floor and they used to have several. Loft always has great Cust Svc , Lush Excellent Cust Service (great products to travel with many every day hygiene items like shampoo & conditioner so no heavy bottles or liquids to pack) Loli & Pops , Sees for all of our sweet tooth needs always excellent service . The Apple store probably has THE WORST service here. Every time i've gone in with an issue with my phone or for a tutorial always dismissed saying i'm at the wrong place customer service told me wrong info it's always an excuse i never ever get anything accomplished at this store . In fact i wanted to grab a few chargers and trying to get a free person to take your payment was insane 10 minute wait just to check out . Poorly ran store so I'd have to say the worst store in this entire mall is Apple .
